Senior Architect

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Architect. The ideal candidate has experience leading a team through the completion of projects in a variety of size, budget, and scope. Your role would be leading a team through the development of projects including conceptualizing, designing, construction and contract documents, liaising with clients and team members. A strong understanding of local building bylaws and codes is an asset.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of management of architectural practice
  • Mentoring of junior staff
  • Networking skills
  • Ability to represent the firm at interviews (project proposals)
  • Responsibility for organization / maintenance of office systems
  • Recognized expertise in a particular area of practice
  • Contribution to firm leadership
  • Knowledge of local bylaws and building codes
  • Understanding of local municipal processes
  • Ability to prepare drawings and documentation appropriate for all project phases (schematic, design development, working drawings / construction documents)
  • Ability to coordinate consultant drawings
  • Familiarity with multiple CAD software platforms
  • Ability to supervise project teams
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of contract administration (including change orders and certificate of payments)
  • Effective communication with contractors
  • Overseeing or leading presentations
  • Knowledge of construction administration (preparation of site instructions, record keeping, effective responses to RFI(s) and review of submittals)
  • Ability to conduct field reviews and preparation of effective reports
  • Attending meetings with clients
  • Offering solutions during the building process
  • Excellent organizational skills

Salary: $100,000 to $130,000
