Seniors in Burnaby have increased access to affordable housing with today's official opening of Swedish Assisted Living Residence, a new 64-unit assisted living development funded by the governments of Canada and British Columbia, along with community partners.
"The Kordyban Lodge will provide cancer patients with a bright, spacious place to call home while they receive treatment at BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North," said Clark. "A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, but a supportive environment closer to friends and family can make a huge difference."
It is now generally accepted that the objectives of sustainable design
are broader than just environmental effects and have come to embrace
human health issues as well.
